Lack of motivation. A talent is irrelevant if a person is not motivated to use it. Motivation may be external (for example, social approval) or internal (satisfaction from a job well-done, for instance). External sources tend to be transient, while internal sources tend to produce more consistent performance.

Appeal: Our van isn't dead yet, but it sure needs some vitamins...specifically, we have to pass an inspection by the end of September. To pass we need:

… specifically, we have to pass an inspection by the end of September. To pass we need:

new winter tires (they are simply worn down, no profile left)

a new timing belt has to be put in (it’s a diesel motor and at 125,000 km, the belt has to be replaced for the inspection)

new brake pads (rear – the red warning light has been on now for months)

Costs:

tires and rims, 100- per tire or total 400- (they are big tires, it’s a van)

timing belt replacement is 500- (it takes several hours work to replace)

brake pads will probably cost 250- (last time that’s what it cost)

Deadline:

The inspection must be done by the end of September or we pay a fine

Why help:

The van is how we help others by traveling to those in need, transporting people and goods to help the poor and getting to our mission partners. We just don’t have the money to do all this at once. So I decided to take this to you in the hope you can a) donate, b) if not donate, pass the message on.

And since I left this quite late we are able to borrow the money to get through the inspection, but the money must be repaid by the end of October (I hate trying to raise funds since I’m terrible at it anyway … that’s why I left this appeal so late)

Will you be updated?

Yes, anyone who donates and gives an email address will receive an update from me as to how much was raised and when the loan gets paid back. If you don’t want an email, I’ll post the update on this page about the progress as well.

7 Things to Remember on Mother’s Day

The curious angel asked, “Whatcha doin’, God, working a puzzle?” “No,” God answered, smiling, “I’m making a family.” The idea was interesting, and the curious angel began asking questions, “A family… sure are a lot of parts. What are the big pieces?” “Those are the fathers.” “Aren’t they too large?”

“No, they have to be strong. They work hard and bear a lot of burdens. They’re the image of the Heavenly Father and the security for their families,” said God.

“And the pretty pieces,” the angel asked, “what are they?” “They are the mothers,” God answered. “They sure are pretty, but fragile, too, huh God?” God replied, “Don’t let their looks deceive. They are small and pretty, but most of them are stronger than men. You see, mothers need to look pretty, but they are strong inside. Their greatest strength is their love and their tenderness. They love ugly men and runny-nose babies.”

“What are the little pieces?” “They’re the children,” God answered. “They make the families complete. Fathers and mothers conceive the little children, but I give them a soul.”

“I hope it works,” the angel sighed. “It has to,” God said. “Mothers hold the family together.”

I pray that every mother will feel loved, honored and appreciated as we celebrate “Mothers Day.” Here’s 7 things every mother must know.

1. Embrace the purpose of your existence. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” Remember, you are not God’s adult; you’re His child. God knows your Maker and He is absolutely crazy about you. He’s called you to be a helper. You’re chosen to raise royal men and women of God.

2. You’re beautiful; inside out. Surrounded with dirty laundry, messy house and runny noses it is hard to feel beautiful. God put true beauty inside of you. You don’t have to perform; you ARE beautiful. Everything God makes is first class!

3. You can forgive and forget. I’ve known many women who are caught in the past. You may have been bruised, betrayed and wronged but do yourself a favor – forgive! Until you let go of the past, God cannot open the great future ahead of you. Focus on what’s right rather than what’s wrong.

4. Your strength comes from God. Isaiah tells us, “Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” Do you feel weak, lonely and discouraged today? Well you’re the best candidate to receive God’s strength. The Scriptures says, “My strength is made perfect in (your) weakness.”

5. See the big picture. Don’t get caught up in the disappointments of life. Ask yourself; is it a 5 minute, 5 hour or 5 year problem? Spend least of your time in the first two and most of your time in the long term. As one country song goes, “Live like you’re dying.” If you’re six months to live, what would be your perspective in life? Will you get so easily upset? Will you hold on hurt, bitterness and anger?

6. Invest in yourself. What brings you joy and pleasure? Enjoy them! Learn to put God’s value in your life. Mothers are so focused on taking care of others that they often forget to take care of themselves; but you need to. Accept the fact that not many will take care of you so you must care for yourself; without guilt!

7. Enjoy this moment. Too many people are either stuck on yesterday or living in the future. Like children, God wants us to live in the present. Enjoy the little footsteps you hear running towards you. Take in the complements your children give to you. Enjoy the chores you have to do around the house.
Remember, the season you’re in will not last forever. What you choose to do this moment will determine what kind of memories you’ll have to look back to.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Here are just a few of the points of USA New Presidential Policies :

1-Support for the LGBT Community (lesbian/gay/bi-sexual/transgender)
2-Expanded hate crimes bills. These are the type of bills that stop all “hate speech”,
such as pastors preaching against homosexuality from their pulpits.
3-Support of Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for LGBT Couples
4-Opposition to a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage
5-Repeal “Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell” policies in the military
6-Expand adoption rights for same sex-same couples
7-Expand human embryonic stem cell research, which destroys human embryos
8-Opposition to any attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade
9- Increased funding for birth control and abortions

Points 8 and 9 were cited as priorities under our new president’s administration.

how those policies will affect our nations?? MERCY

Cindy Wrote:

“What are we going to do? Why aren’t we informed? How has the Body of Christ fallen asleep at the wheel of the nation? We must ask ourselves these hard questions. The truth is that we have no one to blame but ourselves. The church must awaken and cry out against injustice in every form—-both moral and social. We need to learn to pray, write, talk, coalesce, and be informed as never before.

With deep conviction as to the condition of the United States of America, I wrote the book, The Reformation Manifesto. According to The Great Commission, we are called to disciple and teach our nations about the word of God. We have for the most part, only taught ourselves in the church and, in some cases, not even done a good job at that. ”

can we answer the above questions for our nations???

The degree of success a person will achieve depends on the skill he/she has to communicate.

Just the other day a friend told me, “Don’t send me text messages on the phone. I prefer you call.” I took a note of that. I have another friend, who says, “Any time you want to ‘talk’ to me, just send me an email.” People are different. Not everybody likes to communicate the same way. Here are the top tips in a nutshell for you.

General guidelines for Communication

1. Take genuine interest in the person you’re talking to. Ask people about themselves and they’ll talk for hours.

2. Make eye contact. It is the window to a person’s heart.

3. Master the art of listening.

4. Use body language. Researchers say 70% of what you communicate is in the body language.

5. Ask the other person’s opinion on the subject.

6. Speak in short intervals. Do not monopolize the conversation.

7. Be enthusiastic when you speak or listen to someone. Lean forward.

8. Be curious and show empathy.

9. Express your sense of humor and laugh at theirs (even if you’ve heard it before.)

10. Shut up. Harness the will to remain silent after you’ve asked a question.

Communicating by phone

1. Prepare before you call.

2. Smile and say something positive. It puts the person on the other side at ease.

3. Get personal. Give your name and ask for his/hers.

4. If you’re making the call ask permission, “Do you have a minute or five to talk?”

5. Know and state the purpose of the call. “…the reason I’m calling is …”

6. If you’re receiving the call, first, listen.

7. Agree as much as possible. Never argue.

8. Ask questions. Understand before you seek to be understood.

9. End conversation on an “up” note.

10. Speak clearly, slowly and repeat your phone number if you leave a voice mail.

Communicating by Email/Letters

1. Make the email subject line clear and interesting. Otherwise it may not get read.

2. Stick to the topic. Multiple themes and requests get ignored. Better to send multiple emails.

3. Reply to personal emails. It confirms to the sender that you’ve received it and eliminates misunderstanding.

4. Keep your inbox clean. Reply, forward or delete messages as quickly as possible.

5. Include the previous message when replying to questions for clarity.

6. Don’t send BCC email to people in CC.

7. Do not send email when you can communicate orally.

8. Ask for permission before putting them on mass mail list, and offer a way to “unsubscribe.”

9. If you are writing to a larger audience, pick one person you know and write to that person.

10. Add signature with your name and contact information.

Keep communicating!

1. You’re incredible. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:13. In spite of your shortcomings and imperfection you are God’s masterpiece. Nothing you have done or ever do will diminish your value in God’s eyes. The enemy wants you to fade away as an insignificant man. God says He will use you and make your name great.

2. You’ve got what it takes. From Adam till today the enemy has tried to discredit you from being the person God has made you to be. When Daniel, my son was about 5 years old he took off the training wheels on his bicycle. One of the first things he wanted to do was to make skid marks on the road. Why? He wanted everybody to know he can do “crazy” things! Grown men are not much different from my young son. We want others to see. We want to leave a mark. I pray the Holy Spirit will supernaturally reveal to you, “You’ve got what it takes.” Whatever God has called you to do, you can do. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.

3. You can do more. No matter how stretched you feel, you can do more. That is one characteristic of a man that sets us apart. Men rise to the top when surrounded by adversities. Just think of the blood, gore and agony men at war have to endure. Well, life is a series of battles. You may have lost a few but in the end you are crowned to be a champion. Are you living like one? What you do today will determine whether your family line will live under the blessing or curse. You’re the man! Just do it.

4. You’re making a difference. One of the most dangerous things men are tempted to do is to get complacent. We’re duped in to believing that our efforts are not doing much. In reality, just the opposite is true. Sometimes, simply your presence as a man makes all the difference in the world. If you’re not getting the admiration you need for the thing you do right, just know, that you’re making a difference simply by being a man.

5. You can speak blessing. Did you know that a child’s identity comes solely from the father? And nothing else will build your child (no matter how old they are) than to hear you speak positive, affirming, uplifting words over their lives. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21.

6. You can break the cycle. Do you feel like you’re stuck in a destructive cycle of mediocrity, violence and destructive behavior? Stop rationalizing that it came from your forefathers or it “runs in your family.” Be the strong man and break this vicious cycle of degenerating habits. You can give your future offspring a head start by confronting your weakness and inviting the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver you from those bondages.

7. You can forgive and release blessing. I know too many fathers who are at odds with one of their kids. What they’ve done against you is real. Your hurt matters. But nothing is more important than restoring your relationship with people you love. Listen my friend; you’re the father here. Why don’t you be the big man that you are and humble yourself and restore the relationship? Forgiveness is setting a captive free and then discovering that the prisoner was you!

The Maker of all Human Beings is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.

This defect has been technically termed “Subsequential Internal Non-Morality,” or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

 Some symptoms include:

	1. Loss of direction

	2. Foul vocal emissions

	3. Amnesia of origin

	4. Lack of peace and joy

	5. Selfish or violent behavior

	6. Depression or confusion in the mental component

	7. Fearfulness

	8. Idolatry

	9. Rebellion

- The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this SIN defect.

- The Repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs.

- There is no additional fee required.

- The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R.

- Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure.

- Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

-No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

	1. Love

	2. Joy

	3. Peace

	4. Patience

	5. Kindness

	6. Goodness

	7. Faithfulness

	8. Gentleness

	9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Believers’ Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list, and will eventually result in the human unit being permanently impounded.

- For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units never responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

	Thank you for your attention!

	GOD

- Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by “kneemail.”

{I am unsure who wrote this, but thank you – we all need it!}
