all can create groups?
Public Group active 1 month, 2 weeks agointeresting, it seems that anyone who bothers to go through this horrible “create account” nonsense can then create groups … but surely my new textaccount name must just be a subscriber, or? I’ll have to log back in as admin to check that … it seems like a strange settup!

okay, so my new \”testaccount\” (user name) is a \”contributor\” but still allowed to create groups. That might be fine, I\’ll have to see though if I can change what contributors are allowed to do in case on a different / controversial site they start to create negative groups.
Next task, I have to find some way to make the \”become a member\” easier. It is most annoying that the \”Activation\” email doesn\’t bother to mention any details at all. However, that should be relatively easy to fix. (Hummm, did I really want to dive into changing code on Buddypress … I guess I have no choice if I am going to use this stuff.)

also interesting, I don’t see anything obvious in the WordPress Dashboard to immediately edit the ”update” I just wrote … that too is a must!
Just found a plugin so I can edit the original thread (above) called ”BuddyPress Edit Activity Stream”. It needs some work but did the trick to edit a minor typo in the above …
